Every year or two I remake my website as an excuse to check out what’s new in the static site builder world. This year I had a chance to try Astro. I started reading the docs during a weekend and completed the first version in no more than 2-3 days.
The Content Collections API that Astro provides made it easy to organize my content, taking care of a few things automatically. After everything was done, the site ended up bundling zero JavaScript, in contrast to my previous Gatsby site. For the time being I’ll keep using Astro for building simple sites that need relatively simple content structures.
